Dredge equipment to be off beach by March 12

The dredge of the Brownsville Ship Channel is nearing the end, according to a notice on the South Padre Island town website. 

The Army Corps of Engineers says the dredge and all materials will be off the beach by Friday, March 12.

The City of South Padre Island asks that all beachgoers use caution around the large piping that is used to carry the sand material to the placement area.
