Exploring Nature

Explore the wildlife and habitats of Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge along with the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center Aug. 9-12 with the Nature Explorers Camp.
Get a hands-on experience with wetlands, forests, dunes, beaches and prairies with activities that include water testing, plant identification, bird watching, animal tracking, owl pellet dissection, games and art projects. The week will end with a conservation project.
The Nature Explorers Camp will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and is for ages 9 through 12. Cost is $40 per child.
On August 13-16, join rangers from Resaca de la Palma State Park and Laguna Atascosa to experience a variety of outdoor conservation activities including fishing, kayaking, wildlife observation, hiking, archery, animal tracking and identification. The four-day camp will end with a conservation project.
The Conservation Adventure Camp will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and is for children ages 13 to 16. Cost is $40 per child.
