Idiots' Club Appreciation Party

Are you an Idiot? Are you appreciated?

The International Idiots Club will host its Membership Appreciation Party on Saturday, March 6, at Boomerang Billy’s Beach Bar and Grill.

The fun starts at 1:30 p.m. and continues until 3:30 p.m. Current members will receive a food ticket for all you can eat nachos and a drink ticket for one beverage.

Attendees who want to join the club or renew their memberships can do so during the event. Annual membership is $5 per person.

All club members are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food items for the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank.

In addition to eating, drinking and contributing to the Food Bank, there will be a Brownie Cookoff. Contestants are asked to cut their brownies into one-inch squares and to present them to the judges no later than 1:30 p.m.

There will also be raffle with the top prize a three-CD set donated by Leslie Blasing, the local songbird that regularly performs at Boomerang Billy’s. Other prizes include one lifetime club membership and two annual memberships, along with 1020 T-shirts.

In the event bad weather prevents Leslie from performing on Saturday, the festivities will be postponed until Sunday.
