Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo
This weekend will mark 21 years for the Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo. In 1989 a small group formed with the dream of providing the Rio Grande Valley with an exciting event surrounded by the atmosphere of family fun while holding on to the history of the cowboy life. More than two decades later the “little rodeo” has grown into a major annual event.
“Some of the top PRCA cowboys and cowgirls from all over the world will be here to compete for the pay off prize and Rockin’ Robbie Hodges is here as the rodeo clown and man in the can to keep you giggling, laughing, and slapping your knees,” rodeo chairman Mark Milum said.
There will also be an arts & craft tent sponsored by the Los Fresnos Area Chamber of Commerce, the Cameron County Fair & Livestock Show and a carnival complete with rides.
The rodeo, followed by a fireworks display, starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5; 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The livestock show opens at 8 a.m. each morning; the Home Show Exhibit area opens each day at noon.
Enjoy the carnival from 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday and noon to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
Dust off your boots and grab your cowboy hat, this event promises to be a bucking good time!
