All ages will be fascinated with the “Texas Turtle” LIVE presentation by Gladys Porter Zoo, Thursday, July 29, 7-8 p.m. at Quinta Mazatlan in McAllen.
Texas is home to many turtles living on the land, sea and rivers.
Did you know that all turtles are egg layers? Females may travel great distances over land in search of the perfect soil to lay their eggs.
Families will encounter live turtles at Quinta Mazatlan and learn about their habits and habitats.
Some turtles live to 20 years of age and others achieve 100 years.
Thursday Evening Explorations is hosted by Quinta Mazatlan, City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department.
The series is generously sponsored by Freels Orthodontics every Thursday evening through Aug. 12.
The program fee is $2 for adults and $1 for children and seniors.
Quinta Mazatlan is located at 600 Sunset Drive in McAllen, one block south of La Plaza Mall on 10th Street, east of the McAllen Grand Plaza Hotel.
