Even though their physical addresses are two of the biggest hotels on the Island, Sonny’s welcomes everyone, no matter where you’re staying, and they’re the only company that will take you parasailing on the Gulf of Mexico; everyone else parasails the bay. Sonny’s licensed and experienced captains will be happy to show you the Laguna Madre if you prefer it to the Gulf.
Take advantage of Sonny’s early bird cash specials. If you’re willing to go before noon, and you’re willing to pay cash, Sonny’s will have you and a guest soaring 600 feet in the air for only $80. Take three people for only $115.
Not an early riser? Afternoon parasails paid in cash are only $100 for two, $135 for three. Parasailers are welcome to bring friends and family to share their experience. Observers get to ride along for only $25. Make sure you call ahead. Weight restrictions will depend on wind conditions.
Banana boat rides only $15 per person and you’re guaranteed at least 20 minutes of heart pounding fun. Life jackets are provided. More the beach bum type? Rent an umbrella and two chairs for a full day for $27.75. A half day (after 2pm) will cost you only $18. The umbrellas and chairs are already assembled for you and the fantastic staff will even carry all your gear and coolers for you and get you all set up on the beach. Sonny’s also rents single umbrellas and chairs.
One of their best deals is a boogie board for only $4 an hour or $15 for all day. Tubes cost the same, while volleyballs rent for $8 a day. Forgot your camera or sun block? No problem.
