2010 Coastal Expo
The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands & World Birding and Texas Parks & Wildlife are gearing up for the 2010 RGV Coastal Expo on March 11 and 12at the Edinburg Municipal Park.
Coastal Expo is a free, fun, and educational program that introduces youth, grades 1 through 6, to coastal ecology, South Texas wildlife and outdoor adventure though a number of hands-on exhibits and activities including a live fishing tank, coastal touch tanks, boating and fishing skills, live wildlife presentation, birding walks, a rock climbing wall, fossil hunting and much, much more.
Reservations are being accepted for this two-day event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. If you would like to register a school or youth group, please contact Hawaii Miller at 956-381-9922 or education@edinburgwbc.com. Families with young children are also invited to attend.
Organizations, such as scouting groups, civic organizations, volunteer and home school groups are also encouraged to participate in the event as volunteers or exhibitors. Interested persons or groups who would like to volunteer at this event should contact Gabe Dejong at naturalist@edinburgwbc.com.
